If you've been in the shop over that past few months, you may have noticed that we have a growing inventory of gently used mobility aids consisting of crutches, canes, wheelchairs, and walkers.
You might ask, "What for? I thought that you guys build mobility carts."

Please allow me to answer your question. First, you are right. We do and will continue to build mobility carts. In fact, we've built ninety mobility carts during the first 3 months of 2025. That's a 50% increase over 2024's 1st quarter production.
However, in addition to mobility carts, we now have a ministry division whose focus is to provide for a need in our local community for loaner mobility aids. It's called Mobility Loan Closet.
Here's the Problem:
Sometimes, because of events beyond our control, people like you and me, living in our East Alabama and West Georgia community, find ourselves in an immediate need for a mobility aid. The local thrift store is out of stock and if the mobility aid you need is available, it’s expensive.Â
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a local source for free, loaner mobility aids such as crutches, canes, wheelchairs and walkers?Â
The Solution:
We are Make the World Mobile. Our Mobility Loan Closet ministry is focused on bringing no cost, loaner mobility aids to residents of East Alabama and West Georgia.Â
Â
Our vision is to make the world mobile! We loan canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs locally to anyone who might have a need.Â
If you find yourself in need of one of these mobility aids, come by our facility at 12 Price Rd, Phenix City, complete a short form, and leave with a free loaner mobility aid which you agree to return when no longer needed.
In addition, if you have unneeded mobility aids, please donate them so that others may have mobility.
To loan or donate, please call 706.593.8418 or email katjer6557@icloud.com. You may also drop off Monday-Saturday, 9AM to 12noon at our facility at 12 Price Rd, Phenix City, 36867.
God bless,
Sam
P. S. Please! This is a great time for a little spring-cleaning. Remove the clutter in your closets caused by unused mobility aids. Donate them to Make the World Mobile!
